Personal Choice

Everyone has their own opinion on what looks good.  As soon as we wake up in the morning we are faced with a lot of different personal choices. What clothes do I want to wear? What perfume? How do I want to wear my hair? Shoes? Jewelry? We all decide what looks best for us and that is what we will most likely choose.  My point of this article is to say, that this blog is not intended to say that anyone’s personal choice on what they do to their body is wrong.  Getting plastic surgery is a personal choice. I love differences. The fact that no two people are exactly the same is amazing to me.  So if you enjoy getting any sort of plastic surgery or something similar, that’s great. Someone who used to be a great friend of mine once told me, “Everyone has a right to be happy”.  No matter what makes you happy, as long as it doesn’t harm anyone, it’s your choice.

The reason I started this blog is because of the growing trend to be perfect when it comes to appearance.  A lot of pressure is put on us to be flawless. The average person’s body is not flawless. We’re all different as I said before. For us all to try to fit inside the same mold is not only difficult, it’s impossible. So instead of viewing things as flaws we should see them for what they really are. Differences. When my daughter is old enough to comprehend beauty and differences, I hope that when she looks in the mirror she sees someone who is beautiful even if she doesn’t resemble whatever supermodel is popular when that time comes. I hope that she doesn’t ever feel pressured to get plastic surgery, because she thinks in order to look good, she must change her body. I believe the pressure not the procedure is the problem.

So to clarify, I don’t condone plastic surgery, it’s great if it makes you happy, I only dislike the pressure of looking perfect in an imperfect world.

This video is perfect.

Fotoshop by Adobé is the best product ever to preserve and enhance your beauty. What it is, an amazing new generation creme? Nope! A new surgery technique? Nope!

The true science of beauty is just a great camerawork and computer editing. Because, as we all know, beauty in the world of video, TV, film, and modeling these days is really all about the technology of Photoshop.

Unaltered Friends

Hello friends. This is an example of how the picture posting will work.
Send an email to ccxbsf@yahoo.com, include an unaltered picture of yourself. (No makeup, no photo editing, just the awesome you.) You can also add a little about yourself if you like. For example:

>My name is Chloe. I love dance, and I appreciate my unaltered self. 🙂

Please keep in mind that this is a public website so I will not post personal information. Only a first name and a sentence or two about yourself. By sending a picture to my email address you consent to have your picture uploaded to this blog. State in the email that you’d like to have your picture uploaded so that saves any confusion. This is temporary, soon you will be able to upload pictures yourself.

Butchered

Tonight as I was browsing the internet, I became troubled. I saw and read so much that didn’t make sense to me.
I went to Google and searched through the many websites and articles looking for certain information on a particular topic, which lead to another topic, and another, and another. Through all the different websites and articles one thing jumped out at me. Not all, but most seemed to have the same trend.   So this brings me to the reason why I am writing this article.

Artificial Beauty.
I know what you’re thinking. This is just another girl who is writing a rant and rave article because she is jealous of someone, or because she doesn’t have a boyfriend so she is criticizing beautiful girls. Let me assure you, this is not the case.  I’m not here to bad mouth anyone or be a troll. So, on to the point.

I’m going to turn 23 years old in a few days and it has taken be this long to feel comfortable in my own skin. I am finally embracing myself and love every inch of me. I value and respect myself and my body. This doesn’t mean that I don’t occasionally think to myself “I could lose a few pounds.” or “Wow, I look tired today.” It doesn’t make me think less of myself. I’m human, I’m not perfect and it’s a good thing 🙂 I used to put on a ton of makeup when I was younger. I had acne and I wanted it to appear that I had a clear complexion. All the makeup, in turn made my acne worse. So I put myself in a vicious cycle. I also would dye my hair platinum blonde which cost me $350 dollars every visit NOT including special creams and shampoos for the upkeep that cost me upwards of a $150. My goal was to appear flawless. I wanted to look my best, and I thought looking my best meant I had to look perfect.

What is perfection? To me, it was this-

(Breast Augmentation, Nose Job, Makeup, Hair Dye, Air Brushing.)

I was not a fan of Britney Spears but I thought she was beautiful. I considered other girls with the same image to be perfect.

So many times I considered Breast Augmentation.

And a Nose Job
Even one of my favorite ladies, Marilyn Monroe had a nose job.

Noses are getting smaller, Boobs are getting bigger, Faces are moving less and we are becoming something  we are not. So, the way the body naturally looks is becoming something that is less desirable. But in the end I realized that we were not intended to pump our face with toxic substances to paralyze the muscles, or cut our bodies open and insert silicone. I don’t want to mold my body into something that fits society’s current label for beauty. I can only hope that the society adapts its idea of beauty back to a more natural, normal state.

This is not limited to women. Men are also included.

We’re letting society literally mold our bodies.

The hair on our bodies serves a purpose. From the hair on our head down to the hair on our legs. It all has reason, one of those reasons is even to help prevent infection. Women are expected to have no body hair. We shave, wax, trim, pluck and bleach the hair on our bodies. Men are even shaving  and waxing the hair on their bodies besides their face. In most places of business men are not allowed to even have trimmed facial hair, they must be clean-shaven. Shaving facial hair for a lot of men causes irritation, but because of society’s mindset on what a “professional”  look is, most places will not allow men to go in with any facial hair. Some of the smartest, organized,
professional men I know have beards. The beard has no affect on their personality or ability to be professional in their workplace. A man and woman who have hair on their bodies means that they have gone through puberty, and they are functioning normally as a human being.  The bottom line to all of this is, the picture we have in our minds of what a normal human body is, has been mutilated.

I want to help restore the image of what a real human body is. Shine the light on the beauty that it has and show that the use of makeup, surgical knives, chemicals, dyes, and so on, conceal its natural state. I would like people to join in and help me by posting pictures of yourself to show what someone unaltered for beauty purposes looks like. No makeup, no surgery or injections. Just real people.

I’ll start first. This is me. No makeup, just me. An average 23-year-old girl.  I’ll post more as others post and I’ll be sharing more articles and stories.
